James' 1st birthday cake

It's been a while since I updated the blog!  A new baby does take up a lot of time so I had been on a bit of a hiatus.  But what better way to get back into the swing of things than to make a baby's first birthday cake?

James' mommy had a very clear vision of what she wanted for her son's cake from the start and I loved her idea!  The theme for his cake is James' favourite toys.

A car, a ball and a set of stacking rings - baby's favourites - were the focus of the cake.  They were made with gumpaste and serve as cake toppers.  The rest of the cake was kept simple.

I hope you had an awesome birthday James and that you liked your cake as much as I enjoyed making it!

  1. Hi Fann,

Sally & I can not thank you enough for the amazing job you did on James's 1st birthday cake! We were thoroughly impressed with the way it turned out. We can't believe the little details you included on the stacking rings; we weren't expecting that!

Everybody absolutely loved the cake and the strawberry cream was so rich and delicious. We really couldn't have asked for anything more! :)
